Body Control Pilates teachers work to a Code of Practice that governs teaching standards and professional ethics. All teachers hold vaild insurance and CPR certification.

In August 2005, the UK became the first country in the world to introduce a national standard governing the teaching of Pilates Matwork. This standard details the knowledge and skills that a teacher must have in order to be formally recognised as a Pilates teacher. It is endorsed by SkillsActive and the Register of Exercise Professionals and is recognized by the European Health and Fitness Association. Body Control Pilates was the first specialist Pilates training provider to receive approval against this standard.

The National Standard for Pilates Teachers is REP, Level 3 Pilates. Before taking up Pilates, for your own safety and wellbeing, do check that your teacher is qualified to teach.

The qualifications of Pilates Teachers can be verified on the REPs website
